Straightening Teeth Through Orthodonticts

For kid, teens, men and women with crooked, misaligned, or overcrowded teeth, teeth with large gaps, people with under bites or over bites, the best source of treatment may be through orthodontics. What is orthodontics? Orthodontics is a way of correcting irregularities in your teeth to create a better aligned smile.

Braces have long been used to help in correcting the alignment of teeth in both kids and adults. Metal braces are still the most powerful tool in moving teeth which need to change a great deal. In recent years, however, the new kid on the block, Invisalign has been making great strides in helping people achieve a better smile through an almost invisible treatment- something many patients find much more ideal. Invisalign may not be the right treatment for everyone and metal braces or other treatments may still need to be considered to give you the best results possible.

Have straight teeth is important not only for aesthetic reasons, but it makes it easier to clean and take care of your teeth. Oral hygiene is especially important as you are receiving orthodontic treatment, particularly where metal braces are concerned. Make sure you understand how to take care of your teeth so that when treatment is complete you have a perfectly aligned, healthy set of teeth!

Locate a dentist near you for a consultation. Remember: not all dentists offer orthodontic treatments so be sure to check that your dentist offers the treatment you may need or at least can recommend an orthodontic specialist who can help you.

On the 4th of July…

This summer holiday is known for bringing friends and family together under the gazing sun to cook up some BBQ’s treats, lounge in the pool and set off firecrackers ablaze in the sky. It’s a time to be thankful for our freedom, for those who’ve fought for our freedom and for being blessed to live in this great country. How will you be spending your 4th?

Braces and Invisalign

Crooked teeth can be a source of embarrassment particularly among young people who are often teased about their imperfections. While there are a number of ways to straighten or mask crooked teeth, braces are still among the most common treatments for crooked teeth.

There are two types of orthodontics; Braces and Invisalign. Braces slowly move the teeth into line over months sometimes years. Patients who wear traditional braces will have to make visits to the office every few months to have the brace wire tightened. While the process can be uncomfortable in the days after a tightening, the pain is well worth the results braces can produce. While braces are most commonly worn by young people, adults may opt for braces as well.

Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth. One of the largest benefits to Invisalign is they aligners are removable allowing the user to take them out to eat or drink. Invisalign also offers easier maintenance of oral hygiene because they can be removed to brush and floss. Generally, treatment takes between 6 months and 1 1/2 years using Invisalign.

Could Bad Breath Mean Bad News?

The mouth is home to thousands of germs and bacteria. As a result, breath may stink from time to time. The foods we eat and the liquids we drink can have an immediate effect on our breath, but what else could your Halitosis, or bad breath, be telling you? Sometimes bad breath is more than just an annoyance for those around us or something that can be cured with mints.

For some men and women, bad breath is a sign of a bigger dental issue. Bad breath that lasts more than a day or comes back shortly after brushing your teeth may be a sign of tooth decay, gum disease, or insufficient saliva. Additionally poor dental work such as ill fitting bridges or fillings can create spaces in your teeth for bacteria to hide. With proper attention and regular dental check-ups all of these things and bad breath can be avoided.

If you have bad breath and are concerned about the cause, contact your dentist to schedule a consultation. Your dentist will get to the root of it and work with you to develop a plan to get rid of your bad breath. Need help finding a dentist? Dental Veneers

There are many dental procedures designed to improve the appearance of your mouth. One procedure that can be used to remedy a number of dental imperfections with little hassle is Dental Veneers. One of the most common reasons people consider Veneers is to cover teeth that have become yellow. Chipped, and crooked teeth can also be covered using dental veneers.
For some, dental veneers are a good alternative to crowns. A very thin piece of specially shaped porcelain or plastic is attached over the front of your teeth to cover imperfections in your smile. needing very little or no anesthesia, veneers are easily put into place. The appearance of the veneers, when applied by a licensed cosmetic dentist, is natural and virtually unnoticeable.
Very different from crowns, veneers do not require the cosmetic dentist to remove a significant amount of the tooth. In most cases, very little tooth is removed . This is important to you because it cuts down on the possibility of trauma to your tooth. After the tooth is prepared, the veneer is cemented into place giving you that picture perfect smile.
Whether you are wanting to cover chipped, yellow or crooked teeth, Veneers may be the solution you have been looking for. My Dentist USA can help you find a dentist experienced in placing veneers in your area.
