What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is the newest method out there for correcting teeth irregularity and a good alternative to regular braces.

Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth, without the use of metal or wires. Unlike the old days, this is a method that allows you to straighten your smile, with a virtually invisible device.

It is commonly referred to as the contact lenses for teeth because it allows your teeth to straighten without anyone ever noticing!

And, they are removable, which allows you to eat and drink what you want and remove Invisalign while you brush your teeth or floss, allowing you to maintain good oral hygiene.

Treatment time is relatively short, anywhere from 6 months to 1 ½ years, but as everything, is on a case by case basis. After treatment, you will have to wear a retainer to keep your smile optimal.

What Orthdontic treatments are available?

- Invisalign® is the newest method out there and a good alternative to regular braces. Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth, without the use of metal or wires. An added benefit is they are removable, which allows you to eat what you want, drink what you want and maintain good oral hygiene, because you can take them out while you brush your teeth or floss. - Ordinary Braces are very common and made of stainless steel. They are cemented directly to your tooth, and then attached to each other via a metal wire, or an anchor. These wires guide your teeth into place. You can expect to wear them anywhere from 1 to 3 years, but again, time is on a case by case basis. Although they do come in stainless steel, you do have the option for lighter colors of different materials, like plastic or ceramic. The negatives about those types, are they stain easier, and usually it takes longer for your results. However, many believe they look much better than the typical metal, steel look. After treatment, you will have to wear a retainer to keep your smile optimal.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten teeth using a series of custom-made, nearly undetectable aligners. And it's been proven effective in both clinical research and in practices nationwide. So whether your teeth are crowded, too far apart or have shifted since wearing braces, you'll have a new reason to smile.

No Braces / Nothing to hold you Back.

Because there are no metal wires and brackets, Invisalign is comfortable. And because it's removable, eating, brushing and flossing are no problem. You can still enjoy your favorite foods and smile without holding back.

The latest technology makes it possible.

Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, Invisalign carefully translates your doctor's instructions into a series of precisely customized aligners. You then wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, moving your teeth, gradually - week by week, millimeter by millimeter until you've achieved the intended result: Straighter teeth. Generally, you visit your doctor no more often than you would with braces and the length of treatment is about the same.

Orthodontics - Getting the Facts Straight

Braces. Love them or hate them, they're here to stay. And as time passes there are newer and more efficient ways to get your teeth straight using braces. Gone are the days of wacky head gear, with new technology also comes new braces.

Invisalign is a new type of orthodontic or oral appliance, that is used to straighten teeth like braces, only without the need for metal brackets and painful wires. Although in certain cases the metal brackets are unavoidable, depending on the type and severity of your situation, you might be a candidate for Invisalign. The benefit of Invisalign? Like the name suggests, it's somewhat invisible. People won't know you're wearing braces. They fit like retainers would, only they're clear and are molded to your teeth.

In the case where you might need metal braces, tiny metal brackets are attached to your teeth and then a wire is run through to hold the brackets in place, "bracing" your teeth towards straightening. Although they can be uncomfortable, the metal braces have become a bit fashionable to some people rather than ugly and disdainful like they have in the past.
