For almost as long as the profession has been around, people have been afraid of it. Going to the dentist causes intense reactions in some people. The fear or pain and discomfort can be paralyzing to the point where some people simply choose never to go, even when they are in pain at home from teeth that are rotting or need treatment. One tactic which seems to be working is the latest trend in cosmetic dentistry. It’s called Sedation Dentistry.

Sedation dentistry allows patients to literally sleep through their appointment. No stress, anxiety or pain. There are few different types of sedation dentistry to choose from, too. Some patients can choose to take a little pill prior to the treatment which will cause them to feel very relaxed and comfortable, but will still be awake enough to respond to the doctor. In some, more extreme cases, a patient can receive intravenous sedation which will completely knock the patient out for the entire procedure. In either case, it is important to arrange for someone else to drive you home!

Sedation dentistry has helped countless people overcome their fears of the dentist and get the treatment they need to have beautiful, healthy smiles.
