Experience

Dr. Bynum has been serving his patients in the Valdosta area for over 20 years. During that time he has consistently offered them excellent care through his commitment to continuing education and state of the art technology. He has been voted by the Valdosta Daily Times readers as the Best Dentist in South Georgia for 2 years in a row.

Education

Dr. Bynum is a graduate of the University of Georgia, B.S. Microbiology, cum laude and the Medical College of Georgia D.M.D. Since graduating from MCG, Dr. Bynum has had many hours of continuing education. Some of these include Contemporary Cosmetic and Esthetic Dentistry and Advanced Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry Level III from Baylor University College of Dentistry, Advance Endodontics and Continuum I, II, III and IV from the L.D. Pankey Institute of Miami, FL. This is a unique 5-year experience completed by dentists from around the world. Fewer than 5% of dentists have achieved education of this level. He is cofounder of the GSOS Study club and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Dr. Bynum has also taken many courses on implants. His commitment to continuing dental education helps Dr. Bynum and his team to stay on the cutting edge of Dentistry.

Achievements

Dr. Bynum is an Honorable Fellow of the Georgia Dental Association and received Fellowship into the Academy of General Dentistry following 500 hours of continuing education and a fellowship exam. He is also a Fellow in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.

Community Service

Dr. Bynum serves as an usher and greeter at First United Methodist Church. He has served on the past committees: Finance, Health and Welfare, Pastor Parrish. Dr. Bynum also has served on the Valdosta Tech Dental Hygiene School Advisory Committee. He is also a volunteer dentist for the Lowndes Area Ministry Program and the Haven, a battered women's shelter.

Special Interests

Dr. Bynum and his wife, Vicki, have two boys, Bradley (15) and Aulden (13). Dr. Bynum is an avid bass fisherman and is president of the Valdosta Bassmasters. He also enjoys golf and attending the boy's sports events. They are active in football, basketball and golf.
