Periodontal Services (Gum Care)

Everybody’s needs are different. Some people require more attention to improving their gum health. By doing a periodontal screening exam, we can determine the level of care a patient needs. This test is to check for signs of Periodontal (Gum) Disease.

Periodontal Disease is a painless, yet very serious problem. Not only will it cause a person to loose their teeth, it has also been linked to heart disease.

Symptoms of Periodontal Disease

• Bleeding gums
• Bad breath
• Recession
• Swollen and Red

Arestin Antibiotic Placement

When a patient has Periodontal Disease, This means that they may have areas around the tooth that have deep pockets. After these pockets are thoroughly cleaned by our hygienist, she may choose to place an antibiotic chip to ensure that all the toxins are removed. Her goal is to stop the bleeding (signs of infection)and minimize the pocket so the patient can keep it clean at home.

Patient Education

Oral health is a partnership between us and the patient. Compliance at home is essential in maintaining good oral health. It is our responsibility to educate our patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques and making sure that they see us regularly. Our patients pre-book their next visits to make sure they reserve a time that is convenient for them.

Sealants

Seal it before it decays! Sealants are protective coverings that help reduce the possibility for decay. These are great for children!
