Orlando's Best Cosmetic Dentist

Where do you go for the best dental implants, veneers, teeth whitening, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, gum contouring or teeth contouring? What about repairing cracked teeth or gaps in teeth? We polled dentists all across Florida and asked: Who would you trust with your own family’s smile? Here is their choice for the Best Cosmetic Dentist in Orlando.

How did we discover Orlando's Best Cosmetic Dentist? The way you might find a dentist; word of mouth. But we asked a lot of people – and we turned to the experts.

We mailed surveys to thousands of dentist and asked them to name the Cosmetic Dentists to whom they would send a member of their own family for treatment.

The Cosmetic Dentists who received the most recommendations from their peers made our short list. Just because a Cosmetic Dentist was not listed does not mean he or she is not good however. So, how did good Cosmetic Dentists possibly get left off our list of finalist?

Dentists know one another through referral networks – an orthodontist may refer to a handful of Cosmetic Dentists, and vice versa. Sometimes a Cosmetic Dentist is too new to have established a referral network, is practicing in an out-of-the-way location, or does not refer often, meaning other dentists are not familiar with his or her work. Dentists also make referrals to colleagues they like, and people with whom they may socialize. Cosmetic Dentists who are not active in local dental circles and professional organizations are often less well known.

Also, and this is very important, many general dentist claim to do cosmetic dentistry such as: porcelain veneers, composite veneers, dental implants, porcelain crowns, tooth colored onlays or inlays, teeth contouring, bondings, and gum contouring, but in reality they lack the proper training, and are not accredited cosmetic dentist. As a result, the referred patient is often left with a very disappointing smile after having spent large sums of money. When this occurs, other specialists will not refer to those dentist in the future to avoid losing their own patients.

To counter this important fact, we did our own research, asking the experts at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry to see who they ranked as the best Cosmetic Dentists. What we discovered is there are 8,000 general members of the AACD, but there are only 250 Accredited Members. We learned that to become an Accredited Member of the Academy a Cosmetic Dentist must submit a series of complex cosmetic cases involving dental implants, porcelain veneers and crowns, teeth contouring, gum contouring, inlays and onlays, composite veneers, bondings and more for peer review. It is a rigorous process, hence there are only 250 Accredited Members in the entire world!

But there is an even more difficult level of accreditation within the Academy – Accredited Fellow. There have only been 45 Fellows of the AACD throughout the 25 year history of this prestigious organization. The doctors on our finalists list are the best of the best – they have been recommended by their peers and they were all Accredited Fellows of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Out of this elite group of doctors there was one Cosmetic Dentist who was consistently ranked as “The Best” by her peers, Dr Rebecca Pitts of Orlando, Florida.
