What are Dental Implants?

If you are missing one or more teeth, you'll want to talk with Dr. Kernagis about replacements that are as natural as possible. If dentures don't work for you, you may consider dental implants. Unlike dentures, which can be removed, Dr. Kernagis can make dental implants be permanently anchored into the jaw itself.

You are a good candidate for dental implants if you have jawbone ridges that are in good shape and healthy oral tissues. When Dr. Kernagis inserts the implant device into the jaw, a chemical and mechanical bond is formed. The jawbone actually grows into the implant.

With dental implants at Kernagis Dental Excellence, you get a comfortable fit, and they will look and feel as good as (or better than!) your original teeth. For great Tampa dental implants, contact Kernagis Dental Excellence today!

What is Zoom™?

The Zoom ™ In-Office Whitening System is the fastest, most effective tooth whitening treatment that we know of - and smiles are our business! In just over an hour, you'll see outstanding results. The convenience of Zoom ™ compared to days of wearing trays and gradual whitening make it the ideal choice for busy individuals.

After a short preparation to isolate the lips and gums, we apply the Zoom ™ whitening gel, which is then activated by a specially designed light. Developed through years of research, the specially formulated gel gently penetrates the teeth to remove deep stains and discoloration.Teeth typically become six to ten times whiter, sometimes even more. Over the next few days following the procedure, teeth usually continue to get even whiter. The degree of whiteness, naturally, can vary from patient to patient depending on the structure and condition of the teeth. With proper care and the occasional touch-up with a Zoom ™ home maintenance product, your whiter smile will keep sparkling for years.

The Zoom ™ In-Offiice treatment is safe, fast and effective, with minimal discomfort. Patients may comfortably watch television or listen to music during the procedure. The active agent in Zoom,™ hydrogen peroxide, has also been safely used by dental professionals for many years in the treatment of gums and other soft oral tissues. To determine if you are a viable candidate, a thorough dental exam, including a shade assessment, is necessary. Dr.Kernagis or Dr.Wynn will be glad to give you a personal evaluation. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please don 't hesitate to call and talk to one or our staff. We're here to help you have the healthiest, most beautiful smile possible.

What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

One of the first things people notice is your smile. If chipped, stained, or crooked teeth are "hiding" the real you, it's time for a smile make over.

A beautiful smile can brighten your life every day, professionally and socially. And unlike plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry isn't a major operation. Imagine coming in for a single appointment or two and emerging with the smile you've always wanted...no pain, no strain, no time taken away from your busy life. The results are immediate and dramatic.

Brighten teeth that have lost their sparkle.
We can treat discolored, stained or aging teeth with our whitening process. The treatment can be completed in a few treatments. A dazzling smile isn't just for celebrities any more. It's for you, because you're worth it.

Cover problem teeth with ultra-thin porcelain veneers.
Think of this treatment as a manicure for your smile. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom fit over your natural teeth. We can change the shape, color and length of your teeth in only two visits. It looks so good you'll wonder why you waited so long.

Porcelain Crowns.
When the size of a "filling" exceeds a certain proportion of the tooth, it must be replaced with a "cap," also called a "crown." Porcelain crowns look very natural and don't have a dark metal line. Porcelain crowns reflect light with a natural healthy glow.

Go natural with dental implants.
Implants are bridges that are permanently anchored into the jaw. Because there is always a comfortable fit, implants are almost the same as having your natural teeth back again. To qualify for implants, you'll need healthy oral tissues and jawbone ridges that are in good shape. If you're suffering from tooth loss, let's discuss whether implants are an option for you.

Dental Bonding.
Bonding is similar to sculpting individual teeth with a tooth-like material that looks, acts and feels like the real thing.

Bonding is an affordable, quick way to repair many cosmetic flaws or injuries.

Turn "Metal Mouth" into a natural smile.
Replace old crowns and bridges with metal-free restorations. There's a huge difference between metal fillings and our new porcelain restorations that reflect the translucence of natural teeth. Your new metal-free crowns, inlays and bridges won't show wear or cause opposing teeth to erode, and fitting the crown or bridge is a breeze.

What is Sedation Dentistry?

Once you've experienced sedation dentistry with Dr. Kernagis, you'll never be afraid to go to the dentist again.

You'll be sedated just enough to be unaware of the treatment, as if you were relaxing. You'll feel refreshed, with little or no memory of what was accomplished.

Because you are completely comfortable, we can do years of dental treatments in one or two visits. We can replace crowns or dentures, restore sore gums to good health, whiten yellow or stained teeth, fix a chipped tooth, and more. People with very busy schedules can get the dental care they need, easily and quickly.

Imagine being able to smile with confidence and chew your food without pain. No wonder so many patients say: "Sedation dentistry changed my life."
